VISIT OF THE NEWLY APPOINTED AMBASSADOR OF THE REPUBLIC OF SERBIA TO BELGIUM

On 11th January 2008, President of the Executive Council of the AP Vojvodina, Bojan  Pajtiæ LLM received the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Belgium, Mr. Radomir Dikliæ.

During the meeting, they concluded that Vojvodina had potentials for satisfying needs of Belgian investors into our economy, particularly in the area of agriculture and food-processing industry, as well as new technologies, especially in the case of alternative energy resources. Belgium has already showed interest in utilisation of wind energy in South Banat, as well as biodiesel, which could include the whole territory of the Province.

President Pajtiæ pointed out that establishing of economic and cultural cooperation with Belgium, as the EU centre, was very important for us, since we were striving towards European integrations. Pajtiæ said that past balance of commodity exchange with Belgium was rather balanced, but at a low level, therefore it was necessary to extend and increase the scope of commodity exchange in future.
Vojvodina is also interested in participation at economic fairs in Belgium and our Embassy in Belgium will have support from the Executive Council of the AP Vojvodina, as well as the Chamber of Commerce of Vojvodina, thereby facilitating cooperation with this European country.
