NOVI SAD – THE HOST OF THE DANUBE CONFERENCE 2005


The Vicepresident of the Assembly of AP Vojvodina, Šandor Egereši, held a press conference on 24th November 2004, at which he spoke about the results of his recent visit to Ulm (FR of Germany) and its mayor Ivo Goenner who had invited the delegation from Vojvodina Assembly to visit Ulm and Province Baden-Wurttenberg.



They have agreed on working together in realizing several very important projects and announced the establishing of Regional Commission of APV and Province Baden-Wurttenberg as well as the institutionalizing of mutual cooperation between chambers of commerce and industry. Vicepresident Egereši said that it was of particular significance that Novi Sad and Novi Sad Office of the Danube Bureau will host the next Danube Conference in 2005. It was also suggested that the representatives of the the European Union and South-East Europe Stability Pact attend as guests this conference of Danube-region countries, and that a meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs from the Danube-basin countries be held as a paralell event.
Other joint projects which include the cooperation of Universities in Novi Sad and Ulm have been defined, as well as the exchange of experts and training of the Provincial administration civil servants in the municipal and provincial administration of the city of Ulm and Province Baden-Wurttenberg. The city of Ulm will represent AP Vojvodina at its stand during a very important and very large Cities Fair, Expo Real in Munich, whereas the Danube festival has announced that cooperation with EXIT festival in Novi Sad will be established and cultural network of the Danube-region towns and regions set up.
