During the talks held in a friendly atmosphere it was concluded
that cultural cooperation between Voivodina and County Caras-Severin
is extremely successful especially in the organization of cultural
events and symposiums. The need to reinforce economic cooperation
was also emphasized. Joint projects, cooperation between chambers
of commerce and direct contacts between businessmen from Voivodina
and Caras-Severin County are all expected to contribute to mutual
economic growth. It was also concluded that first joint projects
of APV and Caras-Severin County will be presented by the autumn.
These projects will be supported by the provincial Government.
Vice-President Simić advocated the equalization of exports
and imports. He expressed his belief that the construction of
infrastructure, direct contacts between businessmen and concretization
of goals in inter-regional cooperation would result in mutual
benefit. During the talks about culture in the regions, Vice-President
Dušan Jakovljev and the President of Couty Council, Sorin Frunzaverde
have concluded that cooperation has been maintained on a very
high level. Exchange of students between Universities in Novi
Sad and Kluz was underlined as an example of this cooperation.
Vice-President Jakovljev said that doctors who work in spa
Herkulana in Romania have established concrete cooperation with
colleagues in spa Rusanda in Melenci. Plans have been made for
the development of tourism in the region through school excursions
and visits to monasteries and cultural goods on both sides.
Provincial Secretary for Agriculture, Daniel Petrović spoke
about a project entitled ‘Tamiš, Begej – from source to mouth’,
aimed at developing rural tourism and creating opportunities
for economic development.
During the talks with the Vice-President of the AP Voivodina
Assembly, Mr Sandor Egeresi, Sorin Frunzeverde pointed out that
Romania supports fully the efforts of AP Voivodina to become
integrated in the family of European countries. According to
the guest it is easy to notice efforts put in by the province
to serve as a driving force of Serbia on its way to Europe.
Vice-President of the AP Voivodina Assembly, Mr Sandor Egeresi,
emphasized that Voivodina is a multiethnic, multicultural and
multireligious society which promotes the spirit of tolerance.
Mr Egeresi explained that goals of the Provincial Government,
aside from peace and harmonious co-existence, also included
the restoration of autonomy to the province, reinforcement of
international and inter-regional cooperation which ought to
lead our country directly to European integrations. Mr Egeresi
suggested that parliamentary cooperation also be established
with Caras-Severin County and took the opportunity to invite
the guests to take part in the forthcoming Danube Conference.
