STYRIA INTERESTED IN IMPROVING COOPERATION WITH AP VOJVODINA

In talks with the president of AP Vojvodina Executive Council, Bojan Pajtiæ LLM, held on 27th January 2005, Georg Schopfer, Minister for European Affairs, External Cooperation and Finance in the Government of the Province of Styria, said, 'Styria is highly interested in improving the cooperation with Vojvodina and shall therefore support its applications to the funds of the European Union'. Moreover, this Austrian province has a regional office in Brussels. It has also launched several projects in cooperation with Vojvodina, which were submitted for consideration to funds and financial committees of EU.

Mr Schopfer accepted the invitation which President Pajtiæ extended for a business-political delegation from Styria to visit Vojvodina and discuss more thoroughly new joint projects in other fields covered in the Medium-term Plan for Economic Development of Vojvodina related primarily to setting up of a Business Centre in Novi Sad planned for this year, and economic cooperation, bearing in mind that ten companies from Austria had expressed interest in setting up their regional offices in Vojvodina in order to establish the closest possible cooperation with companies from our province and expand cooperation in the field of tourism, ecology and energy.
